Abstract
Disease-related malnutrition (DRM) has serious negative consequences for patient outcomes. Since 2022, we have had national guidelines on how to best support the prevention and treatment of DRM. This review demonstrates that tackling DRM requires a concerted national effort, with doctors taking the lead to ensure that this serious condition receives the necessary attention and treatment. Further initiatives to prevent and treat DRM can result in total savings of up to DKK 46 billion for the period 2025-2035.
