Abstract
There is no evidence for the use of radical prostatectomy in patients with disseminated prostate cancer. However, development of new and effective treatment strategies has changed the therapeutic scenario for advanced disease. Multimodal therapy, also including local therapy of the primary tumour, has received increased attention, and clinical studies in lymph node positive disease are under way. We report three patients in whom radical prostatectomy was performed despite the presence of metastases.
