Abstract
Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a non-IgE-mediated hypersensitivity. In this case report, we describe two adult women with recurrent episodes of severe vomiting and diarrhoea within a few hours of intake of mussels. Based on the clinical presentation and the negative allergy testing, it was concluded that they both had FPIES. We would like to highlight that FPIES can be seen in adults and is a relevant differential diagnosis among patients with suspected food allergy.
