N2 - Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is the most common, congenital cardiovascular malformation and is associated with a number of conditions leading to increased morbidity and mortality, including aortic stenosis, aortic incompetence, endocarditis, aortic dissection and other cardiovascular malformations. The different conditions are reviewed and suggestions are given as to examination and follow-up of patients with BAV.
