Expertises

Clinical professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Specialist in Obstetrics and gynaecology. Clinical expetise in reproductive medicine and obstetrics. Research expertise in Epidemiology and clinical epidemiology, particularly in the fields of reproductive medicine, obstetrics, endometriosis, urogynaecology and benign gynaecology.

Main research areas

Epiedemiological reasearch within the field og obstetrics and gynaecology. Particular fields of interest include: Lifestyle around the time of conception and in early pregnancy, mainly alcohol. Has published both methodological, descriptive and aetiological studies. The studies have been based both on many of the Danish registers available including the National Patient Registry, the Medical Birth Register, the IVF-register and other registers, data from the national clinical quality databases, and on primary data collected for specific studies, both small and large-scale.

Current research

Reproduction: Short-term and long-term somatic and neuropsychological consequences of fertility treatment for the offspring; Genetic markers of ovarian aging;

Obstetrics: Consequences of alcohol and dietary factors during pregnancy on child development; Long-term consequences of preterm birth and caesarean section; Risk of somatic disease in children born of women with chronic diseases.

Benign gynaecology and endometriosis: Rehabilitation of women with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain;  Acute and long-term complications following surgical treatment of bowel endometriose; Conservative treatment of bowel.
