Defended PhD in 2008 "Diabetes in Pregnancy - long-term implications for the offspring".

Experienced teacher at PhD courses and other courses involving doctors, medical students and medical staff. 

Member of the Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group (DPSG) since 2015.

Main research area include Developmental Origin of Health and Disease within the field "offspring from pregnancies with diabetes" as well as “long-term offspring consequences of delivery by cesarean section”. Research methods include, clinical follow-up studies, epidemiologi and registerbased studies.

Current research

Supervisor for two PhD projects involving long-term follow up of offspring from pregnancies with diabetes from two different cohorts. One evaluates cognitive function in the offspring, the other explores potential epigenetic changes which could potentially be linked to intrauterine hyperglycemia.

Supervisor for a PhD student evaluating psychiatric outcomes in individuals delivered by cesarean section.

Supervisor for a medical student evaluating urinary tract infections by mode of delivery
