The main research area is epidemiology in child and adolescent psychiatry with focus on eating disorders (ED). I have mostly worked with register based data, but currently I am also involved in clinical studies on eating disorders and OCD. I have contributed to studies validating the diagnoses of ADHD and OCD and currently we perform a study that validates the anorexia nervosa (AN) and bulimia nervosa (BN) diagnoses in the Danish Patient Registries. The overall aim is to obtain a better characterization of individuals with ED, and to get a better understanding of the influence of risk and resilience factors on the development, precipitation and maintenance of EDs. Hopefully this will with time contribute to better treatments for EDs and improvement of the prognoses.
Register based studies on risk and resilience factors for ED.
Validation of the AN and BN diagnoses in Danish Patient Registries.
I have no conflicts of interest.
