Experienced within the field of histopathologic assessment of diseased tissue. This experience was founded during a 6-years stay at Pathology Departments at the Medical College of Virginia and at the Columbia Presbytarian Hospital in New York and was further expanded during appointments at Pathology Departments  in Denmark, latest at Hvidovre Hospital

Main research areas

Aspects of inflammatory bowel diseases, including ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis, exploiting the utility of image analysis.

Neoplastic diseases of the large bowel, including aspects of hereditary colorectal carcinoma (HNPCC) and serrated colorectal polyps.

Current research

Rectal carcinoma, specifically examining the possibility of predicting the response to preoperative radiochemotherapy by means of immunohistochemical demonstration of ERK (extracellular signal-regulated kinase) activation in preoperative rectal biopsies.
