    Personal profile

    Expertises

I have a comprehensive knowledge about the theoretical and practical aspects of ovarian tissue cryopreservation, and have performed the procedure since 2009 at LRB. I have specialized in human reproductive biology including ovarian pathology and fertility preservation, and my work focuses on human follicle development and the regulatory mechanisms underlying early folliculogenesis.

Í'm is also course-coordinator of The Copenhagen Workshop on Cryopreservation of Ovarian Tissue and chair of ReproYoung (association of young researcher in ReproUnion).

    Main research areas

Reproductive biology; fertility preservation; ovarian tissue cryopreservation; ovarian physiology; endocrinolgy; folliculogenesis; 3D culture systems for isolated preantral follicles; the transforming growth factor beta signaling pathway.

    Current research

Evaluating the effect of androgens on human preantral follicle growth, and the importance of the TGF-beta signaling pathway in ovaries from women with PCOS.

Improving the revascularization and grafting of thawed human ovarian tissue using various antioxidants.

Creating an artificial ovary by decellularizing ovarian tissue and regrafting with ovarian cells.

Characterising expression profiles in human follicles.

Culturing isolated preantral follicles in a 3D alginate hydrogel.

Developing new methods for quantifying follicular survival after freezing.

Testing different cryoprotectants and media-supplements for transport and freezing of ovarian tissue.
