Research areas

My main areas of research are within diabetic retinopathy and screening for diabetic retinopathy. In addition, my research interests also include childhood vaccines in low-income countries and migrant health in Denmark

Current research

  1. Microvascular complications: Retinopathy.

    The aim of this project is to create a model for predicting retinopathy among Steno patients and optimizing retinopathy screening in Denmark, using new retina cameras and artificial intelligence  

  2. Pre-diabetes risk score for cardiovascular disease

    The aim of this project is to create a prediction model as well as quantify the risk of developing cardiovascular disease among persons with pre-diabetes

  3. Diabetes and impaired fasting glucose in Guinea-Bissau

      4.   Diabetes complications among migrants in Denmark
