    Main research interests include diagnosis and pathophysiology of dementia disorders with special focus on biomarkers in neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases;

     

    Current research

    Complex intervention strategies for dementia disorders, principal investigator for the Danish multicentre study ADEX on physical exercise in AD; evaluation of biomarkers for effect of physical exercise in AD 

    Participation or actively involved in several EU programs: 1) BIOMARKAPD (co-work package leader, funded by JPND) with the aim to standardize biomarker evaluations in Europe, 2) PredictND (work package leader, funded by EU 7FP) that use data-driven machine-learning for complex differential diagnostics in dementia and 3) Brainstem (work package leader, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark), that seeks to understand pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders with the use of induced pluripotent stem cells.
