Personal profile

Expertises

Clinical epidemiology, genetic epidemiology, vitamin D, obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiovascular disease.

Main research areas

My primary research interests are the epidemiology of major non-communicable diseases and mortality in the general population with special focus on cardiovascular disease and respiratory disease. For this purpose, I use high quality data from settings spanning general population cohorts, such as the Copenhagen General Population Study, to nationwide registry studies, while applying advanced epidemiological methods including causal inference approaches.

Current research

Lipids and non-classical biomarkers in cardiovascular disease

The epidemiology of lung diseases, especially obstructive pulmonary disease

The epidemiology of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease in nationwide studies

Classical epidemiology and causal inference methods to answer clinical questions using observational studies

Potential conflicts of interest
