Expertises
Spine surgery; Pediatric surgery;
Main research areas
Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis; Degenerative adult deformity; Intervertebral disc degeneration;
Current research
Currently investigating the efficacy of the treatment options for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). This includes both brace treatment and surgical treatment with multisegmental pedicle screw fixation. Beyond that I am also working on a genetic study on AIS families.
In addition to the above mentioned primary area of research I am also involved with studies on intervertebral disc degeneration and the possible etiology of bacterial infections.
Potential conflicts of interest
I am currently working under a grant from K2M.
I have previously received grants from the Lundbeck foundation and the Augustinus foundation
