Expertises

Research expertise is within genetics and biomarkers of common multifactorial age-related diseases. Head of Section for External Projects, Dept. Clinical Biochemistry, Rigshospitalet. The section provides research facilitating services for Rigshospitalet, other hospitals in the Capital Region of Denmark, University of Copenhagen and for various other partners.

Main research areas

My main research areas are in translational science with improvement of risk prediction and understanding of causal molecular pathways. As a consequence, high-risk groups can be identified, enabling early implementation of targeted prevention and treatment.

Current research

My current research focuses on improving risk prediction for dementia and related diseases, by using large prospective cohorts of the general population as well as BigData from National registries and from laboratory information systems. These areas are prerequisites for the implementation of precision medicine broadly in the clinic and for public health.
