Expertises
Comparative Genomics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Adaptive Evolution, Next Generation Sequencing, Statistics, Molecular Biology, Microbial Genetics, Programming, Scientific Writing
Main research areas
Areas of research include both personal human genomics, pathogen genomics, the microbiome, and precision medicine.
The focus of my research has been to better understand how life adapts and diversifies through the process of evolution, and I have combined methods in high-throughput DNA sequencing, bioinformatics, and molecular microbiology to characterize the genetic and phenotypic basis of organismal adaptation.
