Expertises
Since the initiation of my PhD-study (academic advisors Professor Birger Thorsteinsson, Professor Ulrik Pedersen-Bjergaard and Professor Lise Tarnow) I have been trained in planning and execution of randomized pharmaceutical clinical trials, epidemiological research, and mechanistic glucose clamp studies. In the last 4-5 years I have been academic advisor for medical students and PhD students. I have educated nurses and doctors in diabetes and statistics.
Current research
My current research is centered around hypoglycaemia in type 1 diabetes, corticosteroid induced diabetes, obstructive sleep apnoea in diabetes, exercise and glycaemia in type 1 diabetes, and management of in-hospital diabetes.
I am currently chairman of a research cluster, working to stimulate research coordination and collaboration in relation to diabetes and vascular disease.
