Processing and analysis of multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, e.g. using conventional structural MRI, diffusion-weighted imaging, or functional MRI.

Main research areas

Lifespan neuroscience; development and ageing; brain plasticity; sensory deprivation with focus on the visual system; multi-modal magnetic resonance imaging; structural and functional brain connectivity.

Current research

My current research involves several large cohort studies with focus on detecting imaging markers of healthy and pathological ageing with the use of multi-modal MRI combined with cognitive and behavioural factors. A few studies are mentioned below, as a part of the Center for Healthy Aging at the University of Copenhagen:

LISA: Live Active Healthy Ageing (collaboration with the department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen and Institute of Sports Medicine Copenhagen, Bispebjerg Hospital )

LifeMabs: Early Life Determinants of Midlife Mental Development and Brain Structure (collaboration with the department of Pubilc Health, University of Copenhagen)
