Personal profile
Research areas
My research focuses on intervention studies aimed at preventing the onset and progression of non-communicable diseases and their associated complications, with a strong emphasis on lifestyle aspects like dietary patterns and overall physical and mental well-being. My research encompasses everyday life and clinical contexts, often intertwining the two. In the last six years at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, my work has involved close collaborations with a diverse range of professionals, with a special emphasis on clinical researchers and healthcare practitioners. I have been an integral part of extensive RCT studies, frequently serving as the bridge between the needs and preferences of the target groups and the design and
implementation of these studies. I have employed diverse research methodologies, always rooted in a design-based approach that actively involves the target group to address their needs and preferences during the research process. I utilize qualitative and quantitative research techniques to gain profound insights into lived experiences. I firmly believe that true innovations in improving care and support emerge from this collaborative approach.
Potential conflicts of interest
Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen is a public hospital and research institution under the Capital Region of Denmark, which is partly funded by a grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The funders had no role in any part of my scientific work. This includes 1) study design; 2) data collection, analysis, and interpretation; 3) preparation of studies or any publications; and 4) Decisions on submissions. I have not received any financial benefit from conducting my research.
