RCT-intervention studies within exercise oncology, including objective physiological methods combined with psycho social analysis. Focus on participants’ perspectives of initiating and participating in interventions is an essential and central principle.

The research includes a wide area ranging from experiments and innovative activities within the field of health care to existing approaches to treatment and care. Significant parts of the research are comparisons between various types of clinical interventions to treatment, rehabilitation, nursing and care.

Head of Center of Integrated of Rehabilitation in Cancer Patients (2011-2019). Actual research programme ‘Comprehensive Rehabilitation in Cancer Patients – From Diagnosis, along the Cancer Treatment Trajectory and into Society’ (CIRE) comprising 28 researchers for the capital region. It combines qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research is based on general principles focusing on patients’ resources and potentials, and gives high priority to RCT interventions which can support patients’ physical and emotional control initiated at the time of diagnosis and concurrently undergoing treatment. A Centre established and supported by The Danish Cancer Society and the Novo Nordisk Foundation - DKK 30 million.
