Optimization of treatment of complex hernia repair including postoperative recovery: 1. RCT on effect of preoperative systemic corticosteroid in giant hernia repair; 2. Clinical tests of two recently developed slowly resorbable mesh products for hernia repair; 3. Register studies on data from the Danish Hernia Database and the National Board of Health

Wound healing including intestinal anastomoses: 1. Experimental studies on drug-induced optimization of anastomotic healing; 2. The gut microbioma and anastomotic healing; 3. Topical zinc on healing of experimental skin wounds; 4. Effect from preoperative nutritional support on wound healing parameters after hernia repair

Pancreatitis: Studies on various clinical and quality of life related outcomes after ERCP-induced pancreatitis.
