1985, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Hvidovre Hospital, University of Copenhagen. 



1994, Professor of Internal Medicine. 



Medical advisor in Infectious Diseases for the Minister of Health since 1985. 



Temporary adviser for the WHO on viral hepatitis. 



Chairman of the steering committee in the EU sponsored studies: Clinical Manifestations and outcome of AIDS in Europe (Euro Aids and EuroSIDA). 



Main research interests in the area is of hepatitis, AIDS and virology. 



Chairman of the Danish AIDS Foundation 1988-1998. 



Member of the Executive Committee of European AIDS Clinical Society. 



Member of Governing Council, International AIDS Society. 



Publications: more than 300 in International Journals.
