Research areas

A very broad cross-disciplinary background including two main degrees in medicine and social anthropology plus a MPH. Solid track record including clinical work (13 years and Specialist in General Medicine), research (80+ publications), research management, research capacity strengthening and communication. Combination of thorough knowledge of Danish health care system (secondary, primary and preventive services) and international public health research. Extensive experience as senior consultant from Danish and international projects.

Main research areas

Cross-disciplinary health research combining state of the art methodology with a drive to address real life public health challenges. Wide range of topics including control of non-communicable- and neglected tropical diseases, school health promotion, anthropology of childhood, food security and practical and theoretical aspects of cross-disciplinarity.

Current research

Health promotion in a life-course perspective with a focus on early interventions during pre-conception period, pregnancy and infancy. Spatial analyses of hot spots of non-communicable diseases and their risk factors combining epidemiological data with social and environmental determinants. Diabetes control in a health system perspective.
