Personal profile

Expertises

I am a Specialist in Public Health Medicine and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, with extensive experience in clinical practice, research, and education. Currently, I work as a senior researcher at the Competence Center for Transcultural Psychiatry and CultMind, where my focus is on health disparities, barriers to access to mental healthcare services, treatment outcomes, and the impact of cultural factors on healthcare, particularly concerning vulnerable populations, including refugees and immigrants.

My PhD research concentrated on the treatment of trauma-affected refugees, emphasizing the importance of understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by displaced individuals. My research portfolio encompasses various topics, such as trauma, mental health, and social inequalities, and I have published in several notable scientific journals.

In addition to my research and teaching roles, I actively participate in initiatives aimed at improving public health policies that address the needs of underserved communities. I am committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaborations to enhance health outcomes and reduce health disparities among marginalized groups.
