    Gunhild Waldemar is professor of clinical neurology and chairs the Danish Dementia Research Centre at the Dept. of Neurology, Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen. In 1995 she established the first multidisciplinary memory clinic in Denmark and in 2007 the Danish Dementia Research Centre, a national info & education centre (Nationalt Videnscenter for Demens) with nationwide educational and networking activities, funded by the Danish Ministry of Health.  In 2010 and 2014 the Danish Dementia Research Centre was awarded the "Global Excellence in Health" award from the Capital Region of Denmark and University of Copenhagen. Professor Waldemar also serves as the coordinating professor of the Neuroscience Centre at Rigshospitalet. She is a medical advisor for the Medical Legal Council, in the Danish Ministry of Justice, sice 2016 President of the Medical Society of Copenhagen, and since 2011 member of the Lundbeckfonden Board of Trustees, where she also chairs the Research and Prize committee. She was one of the leading forces in the establishment of the European Academy of Neurology in 2014. She is a member of the Medical and Scientific Panel of the Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) and of the Expert Advisory Panel of Alzheimer Europe. Since 2016 she has served on the board of the Alliance of Biomedical Research in Europe.
