    Expertises

    Lipid metabolism; apolipoprotein; atherosclerosis; sphingolipids

    Main research areas

Our main research interest is lipoprotein metabolism and risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

    Current research

Our main area of interest is apolipoprotein M (apoM) and its ligand Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P). S1P is a small bioactive molecule with multiple effects on endothelial cells, angiogenesis and inflammation.  We investigate the role of apoM/S1P axis on lipoprotein metabolism, endothelial cell functions, and its association with development of experimental diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
