Current research

Currently my main research area is a twin study of psychosis, where we estimate the heritability of glutamate, the most abundant neurotransmitter in the brain, with 1H-MR Spectroscopy. We want to link the findings to cerebral blood flow, in order to determine if these measures can be used as a combined endophenotype (a heritable biomarker) for psychosis. Hopefully this will aid in earlier and more specific diagnosis as well as development of better treatment for psychotic patients.
