Current position: Research Fellow, PhD Student, Dept of Anaesthesiology, Nordsjællands Hospital and University of Copenhagen.

Education: Masters in Medicine (2006, University of Copenhagen).

Research Experience:

Developed two new ultrasound guided techniques for peripheral nerve blocks.

Co-inventor of a peripheral nerve block catheter (patent filed December 2013, USA).

Co-inventor of a novel dosing regime for catheter based peripheral nerve blocks and neuroaxial blocks (patent filed October 2014, USA).

Received 1.175 Mio Dkr from Ferrosan Medical Devices, Dec 2014 to further develop a novel suture method for ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks.

Received 7.2 Mio Dkr from Innovation Fund Denmark, Dec 2014 together with Ferrosan Medical Devices to develop: ‘A novel technique for reliable, precise and safe postoperative pain management’. Total budget: 15 mio Dkr over 3 years.

Scientific member on the project ‘A novel technique for reliable, precise and safe postoperative pain management’.

Research Interest:Development of new methods and techniques within the field of regional anaesthesia. Implementing, improving and developing ultrasound guided nerve block techniques and devices in the perioperative setting for optimal patient comfort and pain control.

Ongoing Research:Different projects within the field of regional anaesthesia. Use and development of selective regional anaesthesia in shoulder surgery. Neurophysiologic testing of nerve blocks. Over the next years special focus on research in novel patent-filed ultrasound-guided techniques and dosing regimens.
