    Personal profile

    Expertises

MSc in Pharmacy since 2004, PhD since 2010 and currently working on my DMSc. I am the author of 38 publications, 17 as first author.

    Main research areas

Animal skin cancer models, drug delivery, photodynamic therapy, pigmentation, eu- and pheomelanin, ultraviolet radiation, DNA damage and thymine-dimers.

    Current research

Transforming scientific discovery into clinical solutions for real medical problems for real people is my research mission. My main research area is photocarcinogenesis and pigmentation with the overall perspective of developing a method to screen for promising photocancer-preventive drugs and elucidating the role of pheomelanin in skin cancer, especially malignant melanoma. Promoting and facilitating the translation of research into clinical practice. Moving research from the lab to the patient involves testing the efficacy of a scientific discovery using in-vitro and in-vivo models and gaining approval for their safety and efficacy in humans.
