Main research areas

The neuropsychology of adult and adolescent onset schizophrenia; extended endophenotypes across modalities and diagnoses; predictors of functional outcome; cognitive decline associated with aging.

Current research

Examining the heritability of extended endophenotypes in twin pairs con- or discordant for schizophrenia spectrum disorders; Examination and combination of multimodal (e.g cognitive, functional and structural MR, neurochemical, psychophysiological)  endophenotypes in first episode schizophrenia patients; Examining predictors of the long-term longitudinal course of illness and functional outcome in schizophrenia; Determining predictors of illness vulnerability and manifestation in patients at high risk of developing psychosis; Cognitive and social cognitive remediation RCT; Cross-diagnostic (e.g. psychosis and ADHD) examinations of endophenotypic markers in both children and adults; Tracking the longitudinal course of cognitive functions and identifying predictors of cognitive decline in late middle age.
