Current research

Prevalence and pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease in HIV positive patients.

  • To study the prevalence and pathophysiology of atherosclerotic disease in HIV+ in order to plan how to screen, monitor and treat these patients to minimize future cardiovascular events:

  • Comparison of the prevalence of endothelial dysfunction (82Rb-PET myocardial flow reserve) in women and males with HIV infection and no symptoms of CVD.

  • To compare subclinical atherosclerotic disease in HIV infected women with and without CMV co-infection.

  • Prediction of myocardial infarction in HIV+ adults by endothelial and inflammatory markers in plasma.

Lyme borreliosis

  • Long-term survival, health, and social functioning in patients diagnosed with European Lyme neuroborreliosis during 1985-2016

HIV in women, gender differences in HIV and HPV/Cervical dysplasia

  • Incidence of cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer in women living with HIV in Denmark: comparison with the general population

  • Assessment of mode of delivery and predictors of acute caesarean section among women living with HIV in a matched-pair setting with women from the general population in Denmark, 2002-2014.
