    Main research areas

    Basal ganglia diseases, with special focus on Parkinson’s disease and dystonia. My PhD was primarily concerning patients with PD and treatment with STN-DBS and the use of SPECT dopamine transporter imaging. Cognitive and behavioral changes in PD and dystonia, with investigation of the underlying neurobiological mechanisms using functional neuro-imaging with MRI. Impulse control disorders and Levo-dopa induced dyskinesias in PD patients. Dopamine transporter imaging.

    STN-DBS in Parkinson’s disease and dystonia, with a randomized protocol comparing stimulation in STN and GPi in dystonia patients is on-going. Structural imaging and stereology.

    Long-term follow-up of surgical treatment with STN-DBS in Pakinson's disease; Cognitive and behavioral changes in dystonia and Parkinson's disease; Dyskinesias in Parkinson's disease;
