Expertises

Clinical pharmacology; rational pharmacotherapy; clinical research; bile acid and glucose metabolism; therapeutic drug monitoring

Main research areas

My research activities are based on my daily work as a clinical pharmacologist and deal with, among other things, the treatment effect of drugs (rational pharmacotherapy) and concentration measurements of drugs in the blood.

I have previously conducted clinical experimental research in connection with my PhD thesis on human bile acid and sugar metabolism.

Current research

I am employed as a clinical associate professor within the specialty of clinical pharmacology at the Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen.

I act as co-supervisor for the PhD students Henriette H. Nerild, Mariam N. Carstensen and Jakob K. Hoe, who are conducting studies on bile acid metabolism, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) and specific drug therapy, respectively.

Potential conflicts of interest

My PhD project was supported by scintifically unrestricted funding from Sanofi A/S and research grants from the A.P. Møller Foundation for the Advancement of Medical Science, and the Danish Diabetes Academy.
