Aims and objectives

Our vision is to ensure the highest quality of orthopaedic care through continuous aspiration for the highest level of knowledge.

Standards of treatment are often based on tradition or dogma. We aim to break down existing dogmas and ensure evidence-based choice of patient care.

We have a long-standing tradition in research and quality assessment work within the fields of traumatic injury and degenerative diseases.

Disciplines, methods and tools

The research and quality assessment performed at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is characterised by clinical and epidemiological studies. A high level of evidence is being collected through RCT studies and epidemiological database founded studies applying state-of-the-art statistical and scientific methods.

Specific tools include RSA radiography and gait lab assessment.
