Organisation profile

Research is important for Nordsjællands Hospital. Our research activities are directed at general medical conditions where the hospital can make a special contribution in its capacity as regional and acute-care hospital in the Capital Region. This will also ensure that the hospital is an attractive and competitive research institution in the future.

Research strategy 2020 for Nordsjællands Hospital is working towards providing high professional, organizational and patient-experienced quality. We are striving for high clinical quality via evidence-based treatment for all patients combined with best clinical practice through research. This will be achieved by means of dynamic research environments, research initiated by doctors and professional bachelors, as well as by translating research results into clinical practice.

The Board of Directors at Nordsjællands Hospital has given priority to supporting clinical research by allocating 1% of the hospital’s budget annually for this purpose. Resources are devoted to part-time research positions, postdoctoral positions, PhD grants, and a fund to support projects, research arrangements and conference participation.
