Aims and objectives

Our research is founded in the clinical care of three large patient groups with stroke, epilepsy and brain tumours in our clinical research.

We focus on stroke and physical activity and its impact throughout the acute and the rehabilitation phase.  Our biomarker studies contribute to the understanding and planning of future treatment of patients admitted with stroke.

Disciplines, methods and tools

Across disciplines miRNA expression profiles are studied in blood and cerebrospinal fluid to determine the diagnostic and prognostic value in stroke and dementia.

Measurement of physical activity by accelerometri

Studies initiated and conducted by nurses, physiotherapists and ergo therapists are ongoing.
