It´s all about the brain! The Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance (DRCMR) is one of the leading research centres in Europe within the field of biomedical MRI. The DRCMR has a methodological line of research which aims at advancing biomedical use of MRI and a more applied line of research which is geared to conduct ground-breaking basic and clinical neuroscience. A highly profiled international research team translates the latest progress in MRI to unravel how brain disorders affect brain structure, function, and metabolism. This knowledge promotes early diagnosis and monitoring, but also yields novel insight into disease mechanisms and how the brain is able to cope with damage. Another important aspect is to identify "beneficial" brain properties than determine mental health and well-being.
DRCMR houses a multidisciplinary and multinational research team with expertise within five main research areas:
The centre’s research activities range from methods development and pre-clinical research to applied research in human volunteers that leads to a better biological understanding of the human brain and its disorders.
