CAMES is one of the world's leading institutions in the field of training health professionals. CAMES researches the use of simulation in the training of healthcare professionals across disciplines and career stages. CAMES' research focuses both on how to deliver better education and support health professionals' learning and performance in the clinic – both as individuals and as teams. This could be, for example, testing new concepts for simulation training or the use of new technology to support learning and training in the clinic. CAMES does research in simulation as an analysis method regarding to strengthen patient safety. CAMES collaborates with health professionals, companies, hospitals, municipalities, universities and other educational institutions both in Denmark and in the rest of the world.

CAMES' current research projects include mental health for health professionals, commissioning of new hospitals, development and implementation of new technologies such as artificial intelligence to support learning and diagnostic competence, or methods for effective training of robotic surgical skills.
