Aims and objectives

The overall aim is to prevent blindness and preserve the most visual acuity for our patients. This is done by initiating clinical trials and basic research in the eye department thereby obtaining additional and new knowledge for the benefit of our patients.

Focus areas

The eye department focuses on almost all structures of the eye and eye region. Special focus areas are "imaging and the eye" and  "stem cells and the eye".

Disciplines, methods and tools

Many research projects are already running in the eye department and many phd studies initiated. The clinicians thereby focus on these research areas putting special attention to a given project.
