Abstract

Significant improvements have been made in the management of Type 1 diabetes over the last three decades [1]. We wanted to examine if uric acid lowering with allopurinol changes the urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER) or 51 Cr EDTA GFR in people with Type 1 diabetes and diabetic nephropathy.
