N2 - Social cognition has gained prominence in psychiatric research, beginning with schizophrenia and more recently in bipolar disorder. Considering the relevance of this domain to interpersonal relationships and functionality, we aimed to explore the fundamental research and clinical issues regarding social cognition and discuss future directions and challenges in the field of bipolar disorder.
