Abstract
In Denmark, screening for congenital heart defects is a key component of the second-trimester ultrasound with > 95% of pregnant women participating. The screening boasts high detection rates, identifying > 80% of severe congenital heart defects before birth. Early detection enables accurate diagnosis and genetic testing, as well as timely planning and intervention. A national virtual conference platform connecting paediatric cardiologists and foetal medicine specialists enhances the detection and coordination of treatment, improving outcomes for children with congenital heart defects.
