Abstract
Traumatic hip dislocation is an orthopedic emergency (Sahin et al. J Trauma 54(3):520–529, 2003). All orthopedic surgeons who take trauma call must be proficient in initial management and familiar with definitive treatment of this condition. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a practical overview of traumatic hip dislocations with tips and tricks for both stages of management of this high-energy injury (Mandell et al. Radiographics 37(7):2181–2201, 2017): (1) reduction and stabilization and (2) definitive management.
