N2 - Mycobacterium brisbanense is rapid-growing nontuberculous mycobacteria. It was first described in 2004 as a human pathogen and only one case report has previously been published. We report a case of M. brisbanense infection in a young man with asthma, recurrent lung infections and secondary adrenal insufficiency induced by inhalation steroids and itraconazole use. The mycobacterial infection was successfully treated with a long-term multidrug regimen.
