Interpreting postoperative physiology prior to complications using continuous vital sign monitoring

1. To which extent are postoperative vital sign deviations associated with
preoperative vital sign deviations?
2. What is the difference between circadian vital sign values in
postoperative patients with vs. without complications?
3. If we provide patient care staff with continuous vital sign values and
notifications of deviations from physiologic normal ranges, will this
reduce the duration of severely deviating vital signs, further, does that
mean that we can prevent complications?
