Abstract
Groin pain is common in athletes and may be caused by many different pathologies. Consequently, the condition can be clinically challenging to diagnose and treat. Until recently, no agreement regarding terminology and classification of groin pain has been available. However, recent consensus and research on athletes with groin pain have improved the prospect of a more standardised and evidence-based clinical approach. This paper is an updated and evidence-based review of the clinical examination and imaging as well as treatment of athletes.
