Abstract

We hypothesize that perinatal exposures, in particular the human microbiome and maternal nutrition during pregnancy, interacts with a genetic predisposition to cause an abnormal immune-modulation in early life towards a trajectory to chronic inflammatory diseases such as asthma and others.
