Abstract

Marked changes in different blood variables, e.g. hemoglobin concentration ([Hb]) and hematocrit (Hct), are indications of blood manipulation. Blood sampling and the development of individual, longitudinal blood profiles have therefore been implemented in doping control in different sports federations.
