Intro: A cross-over study investigating the influence of mechanical or intelligent natural ventilation on indoor climate and pupil and teacher mental health.
Metoder: The ventilation system is altered in one of two comparable classrooms with one classroom maintaining the existing mechanical ventilation system and the other equipped with a newly designed intelligent natural ventilation system. Pupils in each class are staying in one of the classrooms for 6 months before changing to the other room for 6 months (cross-over). Pupils and teachers are interviewed about mental health and indoor climate issues (headache, concentration, sleep, mood, noise, temperature comfort, concentration and energy level) in each condition
Resultater (forventede): We expect that the intelligent natural ventilation will be better tolerated compared to the mechanical ventilation with better sleep and concentration and indoor climate comfort.
Diskussion/Impact (forventet): if the results are confirmed we expect to use the same system in other and preferable larger buildings/schools.
