Intro: a project investigating the effect of Circadian Reinforcement Therapy (CRT), a novel treatment using zeitgeber signals to regulate sleep and mood in patients discharged from an inpatient ward.
Metoder: patients with depression discharged from an inpatient ward with be educated in the implementation of zeitgeber signal regarding sleep, light, exercise, diet and social contact supported by the use of an electronic monitoring system (Daybuilder). The standard group will receive usual treatment.
Resultater (forventede): We expect that patients receiving will achieve fewer depression relapses and readmittances.
Diskussion/Impact (forventet): If the results are positive, we will test the method in larger scale projects before implementing in the psychiatric services.
