The current project will collect and compare neurocognitive data from two CINS projects: PECANS (Pan European Collaboration on Antipsychotic Naïve Schizophrenia), and the Twin study (please, see later). The purpose of the project is to identify neurocognitive deficits that can be characterized as endophenotypic markers of schizophrenia. This is done by examining neurocognition in patients with schizophrenia, compared to their co-twin (healthy or ill), to healthy twin pairs, and to drug-naive patients with schizophrenia. In PECANS neurocognition is assessed using BACS (Brief Assessment of Cognition in Schizophrenia), CANTAB (Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery), and selected tests from
WAIS-III (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale).
